Sid Buckwold Bridge Rehabilitation

Two year restoration project on the Sid Buckwold Bridge including work on Idylwyld Drive and 1st Avenue North Flyovers

  • New concrete barriers, deck replacement on the bridge

  • Concrete repairs to deck, soffit, and abutments

  • New membrane and asphalt 

  • One new overhead sign structure 

  • Bridge jacking for abutment repairs 

  • Pigeon removal and bird exclusions 

  • Installation of 16 new expansion joints.

Avenue P Medical Office Building

  • Construction of a four storey concrete building and underground parkade. Completed the tenant improvements on 3 of 4 floors.

  • Due to an extremely congested work area we were unable to use a tower crane for the construction

  • The EFCO forming system was used for all the concrete.

Spadina Lift Station Bypass Building

Construction of a new bypass lift station complete with :

  • Installation of a new 1200mm diameter pipe from the new wet well to diversion manhole.

  • Due to the spoil conditions a shoring system was installed.

  • All process mechanical, electrical and control systems were included.

Pilot Butte Wastewater Treatment System Upgrade

  • Construction of a new sewage pumping station including a 65m   building over a  5.8m deep wet/dry chamber. Supply and installation of new pumping, mechanical, electrical and control equipment.

  • Construction of a new 100m  aeration building including 4 new blower units, electrical, mechanical and control equipment.

  • 1.5KM of 250 - 400mm HDPE force main

  • 1.7KM of 250 - 400mm PVC influent/effluent pipe

  • 2.55ha HDPE lined lagoon aeration cell including all new air distribution piping

  • 162,500m3 compacted clay lined lagoon storage cell

  • Two new 32m x 90m submerged attached growth reactor cells (SAGR) including all wastewater and air distribution piping.

  • Construction of new roads, ditches and site grading

Charlot River and White Lake Spillway Upgrades

Athabasca Region SK

This project included work to two separate spillways at the Saskpower Hydrostation in the Athabasca Region.

Charlot River Structure:

  • Engineered temporary shoring system. Work completed in 4 phases due to the Owner’s requirement for the structureto remain operational.

  • All work was completed from the downstream side of the structure. 

  • New concrete foundations, walls, support pedestals

  • Misc concrete repairs including new rock anchors

  • Installation of new structural steel gates, decking, grating and handrails. Blasting and painting existing structural steel

  • Installation of Owner supplied de-icing system

White Lake Structure:

  • Temporary diversion structure installed at the weir to allow for construction access on the down stream side of the spillway

  • Engineered temporary shoring system. Work completed in 2 phases due to the Owner’s requirement for the structure to remain operational.

  • New concrete foundations, walls, support pedestals

  • Misc concrete repairs including new rock  anchors

  • Installation of new structural steel gates, decking, rating and handrails. Blasting and painting existing structural steel.

  • Installation of Owner supplied de-icing system

This project was located in Northern Saskatchewan with access only by air or barge.

Slope and Shoreline Erosion Protection Measures

Slope and shoreline erosion protection at 2 locations on Highway 20.
Project included:

  •  clearing & grubbing 

  • excavation of embankment slopes

  • installation of new sheet piling at both locations

  • installation of an engineered concrete block tie back system at one location

  • granular sand backfill

  • installation of concrete reinforced mats at both locations complete with topsoil and seed infill

  • new guardrail system

 

All traffic accommodation was completed by Allan Construction

St. Thomas More College - Cafeteria and Library Addition

  • A new 5 storey elevator was installed to provide total access throughout the college and an existing elevator was removed and filled in for office use.

  • Recipient of the 2018 Municipal Heritage Awards Program: Award of Merit “Sensitive Addition”

Waterloo Spillway Rehabilitation

Waskesiu Marina Dock & Infrastructure Replacement

  • Remove existing docks and wood timber piles prior to the ice forming.

  • Engineer and build the ice in the harbor to the engineered thickness.

  • Supply and install the new pipe piles through the ice. 

  • New docks were installed on top of the ice and set in place during the spring thaw.

Landfill Gas Collection System

Supply and installation of:

  •  850 lm of 300mm diameter header pipe and 250mm diameter utilization pipe around the City of Saskatoon the landfill.

  • 100mm and 200mm diameter lateral pipe from the main header line to the 29 wells installed thru out the landfill.

  • A 225m2 pre-engineered Blower Flare Station complete with all process mechanical and electrical, condensate
    chamber, and installation of Owner supplied dryer/chiller system and Flare.

  • A new 315 m  pre engineered power generation facility adjacent to the landfill
    complete with the installation of 2 - 800 kWe.

  • Owner supplied engine generator sets and all process mechanical and electrical.
